Les Gock

Les joined HUSH as lead guitarist from 1972-1977. HUSH became one of the staple acts of ABC’s Countdown and pioneered glam rock in Australia. With No 1 hits like “Bony Maronie” and “Glad All Over”, HUSH earned 12 gold albums and toured the country selling out wherever they played.

After the band broke up in 1977, Les set up a music production company offering his musical skills to the ad industry with phenomenal success, penning and producing memorable ad campaigns including “This Goes With That At Sussan”, “D-D-D Decore” and his arrangement of “Still Call Australia Home” for Qantas.

The company grew to become Song Zu, a music and sound design mecca in Sydney and Singapore, that attracted some of the cream of Australasia’s composers and sound engineers. Song Zu won every conceivable advertising award domestically and internationally. Les also became chairman of AWARD, advertising’s most prestigious creative body.
