It all started back in 1971 when four musicians, Glenn Fry, Don Henley, Bernie Leden and Randy Meisner came together in Los Angeles. and Henley had met while playing backup for Linda Ronstadt and with a mix of rock, folk and country influences, they formed a sound that would become legendary. Their self-titled debut album dropped in 1972 and with it came their first hit, Take It Easy.

Written by Jackson Brown and Glenn Fry, this song introduced the world to the Eagles' signature harmonies and laid back storytelling style. was the perfect road trip anthem, the essence of youthful Wanderlust and easy going California vibe.

From there the hits kept coming. Witchy Woman, Desperado and Tequila Sunrise made them radio favourites. But it was their fourth album, One of These Nights, that propelled them to super-star them in 1975. The title track along with Lion Eyes and Take It to the Limit cemented their reputation as masterful songwriters and musicians. And of course there's Hotel California, their magnum opus. Released in 1976,

This album was a game changer. The title track with its haunting lyrics and that iconic guitar solo from Don Felder and Joe Walsh is still one of the most played songs in rock history. It's a song packed with mystery and intrigue, often interpreted as a commentary on the excesses of the American dream.

But with success came challenges. By the early 80s tensions within the band had boiled over, leading to the infamous break-up in 1980. Don Henley once quipped that the Eagles would reunite when Hell Freezes Over, which of course became the title of their 1994 comeback album. And what a comeback it was. Their Hell Freezes Over tour saw them back on stage delivering unforgettable performances of classics like Mewkid in Town,

and Love Will Keep Us Alive. The tour proved that their music still resonated with audiences worldwide and it introduced a new generation to their timeless sound. Over the years, the Eagles have lost and gained members with Glenn Fry's passing in 2016 being a particularly heartbreaking moment. But Henley, along with Fry's son Deacon and country legend Vince Gill have kept the legacy alive.

Their music continues to be a staple on classic rock radio, in movies and in the hearts of fans holding news.

So what is it about the Eagles that makes their music timeless? Maybe it's their ability to blend rock and country seamlessly. Maybe it's their lyrics, stories of love, loss and life on the road that feel just as relevant today as they did 50 years ago. Or maybe it's just that undeniable magic of a perfectly crafted song. Their influence is undeniable. Bands and artists across generations from country legends to modern rockers

cited the Eagles as an inspiration. Their greatest hit albums remains one of the best-selling records of all time, proving that their appeal has never faded.
